Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Padova, Italy, is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead embedded software efforts in R&D projects, delivering reliable MCU software for ARM Cortex, Aurix and RISC-V platforms.

You will contribute to innovation, enable open-source ecosystems such as Zephyr and ROS, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into structured work packages and verifiable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
• At least 5 years of embedded software design and development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python; RTOS experience (Zephyr preferred).

Responsibilities

• Drive embedded software development in structured R&D projects and open-source ecosystems.
• Develop, test and verify embedded software for MCU products (ARM Cortex, Aurix, or RISC-V).

You will contribute to innovation projects, enable open-source software ecosystems for various applications, collaborate with partner teams, and establish an internal/external network.Develop, test and verify embedded software for MCU products based on ARM Cortex, Aurix, or RISC-V architecture, and for innovative R&D projects in the field of embedded system domainSupport AI hardware accelerator development, AI software toolchain and stack development, including code generation and system validationEnable Infineon product portfolios for open-source software ecosystems such as Zephyr and Robot Operating System (ROS)Collaborate closely with Business Lines and adjacent domains like system modeling, virtual prototyping, validation and application engineeringEffectively capture, analyze and understand requirements and break down into structured work packagesYour profileQualifications and skills to help you succeedYou work conscientiously on making things better, faster, and more efficient and you are able to quickly establish a successful collaboration.
