Vertiv in Piove di Sacco, Italy, is seeking a Thermodynamic HVAC/chiller Engineer to join the Thermal Management mechanical design team within R&D. You will focus on Chiller products and work with a multi-disciplinary team to drive high-performance, cost-efficient designs.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Mechanical/Energy Engineering, 3–5 years in HVAC/chiller projects, strong thermodynamics and refrigeration knowledge, and intermediate English.

Vertiv is looking for a Thermodynamic HVAC/chiller Engineer to be part of the Thermal Management mechanical Design team within the R&D Department, based in Piove di Sacco, Italy. He/She will be mainly focused on the Chiller products.

Responsibilities:

• To manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well-known global data center customers.
• Deliver a fast and customer focused response on “engineered to order” (ETO) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market leading innovation.
• To lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with, Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer’s needs.
• To approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.
• To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility.
• Availability to travel on request between the Italian HQ (base) and a production facility in Slovakia.
• A good level of experience in the HVAC sector with particularly good knowledge of Thermodynamics and refrigeration.

Requirements:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering is required;
• At least 3-5 years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC/chiller sector;
• Good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential;
• English – Intermediate level – written and spoken;
• A high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities is required;
• Knowledge of technical norms and standards;
• Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible.

The anticipated salary range for this role in Piove di Sacco, (PD) is between 48.000€ to 60.000€ gross per year (based on a full-time working week). Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation and benefits. Where applicable, a comprehensive overview of the full benefits package and any additional compensation will be provided during the recruitment process in accordance with local legal requirements. Compensation is determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, including skills, experience, and job responsibilities.

The applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for this role is Metalmeccanico Industria.
