The Role

Your Impact

As a Sr Solution Consultant, you will partner with AspenTech sales teams during the sales cycle to lead in the consultative discovery process with customers; craft a vision and roadmap of a solution that addresses customer requirements; identify differentiated value capture potential; and design an implementation/sustainment program for that solution. This involves understanding AspenTech’s product strategy, value enablers, professional services capabilities, and the sales pipeline to drive opportunities where AspenTech solutions can deliver significant business value.

The Sr Solution Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality solutions and business outcomes based on existing AspenTech products. Demonstrating deep knowledge of solutions and offerings, capable of contributing to the design of complete solutions across the project lifecycle—from pre-sales to design and delivery—the Solution Consultant drives transformational results aligned with business strategies for AspenTech customers.

This customer-facing role requires self-motivated individuals with excellent business, industry, and technical knowledge, along with strong consultative and communication skills to position AspenTech solutions and services effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting, be comfortable at the intersection of technology and business, and be able to connect technology with measurable business value.

Role Details

  • Develop industry- and application-specific solutions for customers, leading value discovery sessions, assessing needs, and developing solutions.
  • Understand prospective customers’ critical business issues to present AspenTech’s software as the best solution.
  • Build customer-specific solutions on the AspenTech platform using available tools.
  • Develop recommendations, proposals, and scope of work documents for consulting engagements, identifying dependencies and gaps.
  • Advise customers on relevant AspenTech solutions, establishing a credible value proposition.
  • Develop and execute sales campaigns with the Sales teams.
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities, develop solutions to meet needs, and support pipeline development and sales execution.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in consulting, pre-sales, or professional services in industries like Energy, Petrochemicals, or Chemicals.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing economics and ability to discuss plant and process details with customers.
  • Technology expertise in areas such as Process Engineering, Manufacturing Supply Chain, Advanced Process Control, Predictive Maintenance, or Digital Infrastructure Modernization.
  • Drive to solve customer problems and convert opportunities into deals.
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions and their business value.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze customer data.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40%, domestically and internationally.
