The Sr. Accommodation Consultant (SAC) serves as a liaison between business lines, the Disability Leave Services (DLS) team, outsourced vendor partners, and employees. The SAC provides case management for sensitive accommodation and workplace adjustments, managing all aspects of workplace adjustments including developing and implementing regional processes to optimize employee productivity and experience.

The SAC is experienced in handling accommodation questions, understanding employee situations, responding to changing needs, and ensuring a connected case management experience. This role requires self-management skills, knowledge sharing, and the ability to translate business needs into HR capabilities, producing favorable results for the company and employees. The individual must communicate effectively, analyze critically, and focus on customer service, aligning with Amazon’s standards.

Key job responsibilities

  1. Pursue return-to-work management and collaborate with leave case managers and disability vendors for effective program administration.
  2. Provide consultation and coaching on accommodation matters to regional HR partners, managers, and employees.
  3. Support employees with medical conditions or disabilities, supervisors, HR, and partners, aiding in retention efforts.
  4. Advocate for the accommodations process through ongoing support and problem-solving with stakeholders.
  5. Coordinate escalated communication between stakeholders and employees with disabilities.
  6. Work with DLS Management and Legal on escalated issues as needed.
  7. Manage sensitive cases such as behavioral health conditions.
  8. Assist HR and supervisors in identifying essential and marginal functions of employee roles.
  9. Conduct job site analyses as necessary.
  10. Help employees understand their restrictions, limitations, and legal rights.
  11. Maintain confidentiality in communications.
  12. Stay informed on legislation and issues affecting access for employees with disabilities.
  13. Document and update case records accurately in the database.
  14. Assess training needs and conduct group training sessions as appropriate.
  15. Provide opinions and actions for formal grievances, arbitration, depositions, and forums.
  16. Adhere to SLAs and quality standards.

Maintain a caseload of up to 80 cases, with fluctuations during peak periods such as high volume, Prime Day, and site launches.

Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience managing cases or supporting employees with disabilities, leave, or HR functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and data extraction.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience handling confidential information and influencing others in cross-functional environments.
  • Experience in employee relations and change management.
  • Experience with government programs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
