Leica Microsystems, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Field Service Engineer in Italy with a remote-friendly setup. Based in the Triveneto region (Padova or Venezia), travel up to 70% within Italy is expected.

Responsibilities include installing, servicing and repairing confocal and microscopy systems, and supporting the sales team with installations and demonstrations. The role offers a salary range and bonus eligibility based on experience.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Engineer Degree Required or similar.
• Fluent in English and Italian.
• Excellent Microsoft Office application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the Triveneto Region and rest of Italy up to 70%.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift/move equipment.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring quick resolution of complex customers challenges and empowering team members with their functional knowledge. Working across all levels of the business, you will play a key role in contributing to the growth of overall business beyond service as well. This will require collaborating with team members at the point of impact and across the organization. Identify and implement opportunities to improve, while also operating as a change agent to ensure processes and standard work are being sustained and effective. This position reports to the Italy Service Manager and is part of the Italy Service Team. The FSE will be based in Triveneto Region (ideally in Padova or Venezia), however the role will be fully remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Delight customers through timely and competent response to their needs, coupled with clear communication & Collaborate closely with the Service Team to ensure all customers in the region are provided a professional after-sales service.
• Support Sales Representatives in activities such as installations and demo/exhibitions.
• Conducts service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts (main focus in Medical Microscopy and Compound/Stereo Microscopy).
• Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory.
• Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution.
• Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system & Help our organization grow by high quality support of our existing customers and by helping us identify new customers and opportunities during your time in the field.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s Engineer Degree Required or similar & Fluent in English and Italian
• Excellent Microsoft Office application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to travel within the Triveneto Region and eventually to the rest of Regions in Italy. (Up to 70% travel).
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment & tools.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience in Confocal systems (maintenance and repairs).
• Handling repairs, calibrations, upgrades and allied tasks.
• Networking, influencing, and communicating effectively across functions and at all levels.
• Training and/or coaching experience.

This role is classified under the applicable CCNL as second-level employee under the Commercio CBA , which defines minimum terms, job classification, and baseline progression frameworks.

The expected gross annual salary range for this role is € 43.000 - € 57.000 , determined based on objective criteria such as experience, skills, and role-related competencies. This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay. This is the target earnings as 10 % of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
