About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan within the Seta Restaurant Department in Milan, the Sommelier is responsible to delight and satisfy our guests. We are dedicated to making a difference every day and continually improve to ensure we are the best. The Sommelier reports to the Restaurant Manager.

As Sommelier, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Serve all beverage orders in a professional manner using the correct equipment and following the proper procedures
• Be able to recommend suggestion of wine to the guest according to the requirements
• Take beverage orders and promote up selling techniques
• Ensure that all wine lists are updated and maintain accurate sales records of wines and spirits
• Control the stock level of all beverage items
• Assist with the service of food when necessary

As Sommelier, we expect from you:

• A working experience in fine-dining restaurant with certain experience at supervisory level, preferably in 5-star hotel
• Fluent in English and Italian
• Willing to learn and able to work under pressure
• initiative and with good customer service skills
