A leading solar energy company is seeking a Solar Project Manager to oversee construction projects from contract signing to operational handover. The role involves collaboration with contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, high safety standards, and effective budget management. Ideal candidates will have experience in solar projects, a relevant engineering degree, and fluency in English and either Italian or Spanish. This role requires travel across Europe for site visits and meetings.

About the role

As the Solar Project Manager, you will oversee solar construction projects from contract signing to operational handover, working with contractors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery. Based in Rome, Milan, Madrid, or London, you will join an experienced multidisciplinary team and will travel across Europe to site visits and meetings.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for construction projects, ensuring contractual obligations are met and projects are delivered on schedule.
• Collaborate with EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers, and WHSES team to uphold high standards of safety, quality, and project organization.
• Manage contracts and coordinate with grid operators, lenders, suppliers, and off-takers to resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct pre-construction site assessments to evaluate feasibility and identify challenges.
• Report regularly to stakeholders, including shareholders, project boards, and financiers.
• Manage budgets and risks effectively, identifying opportunities and mitigation strategies.
• Support development and procurement teams during contract negotiations and ensure effective project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling during construction.
• Bring proven experience in managing complex solar or renewable energy projects, with a good understanding of development, grid connection, and permitting processes.
• Hold a degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• Fluent in English and either Italian or Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
