We are seeking a Software Engineer for Advanced Engineering to join our team in Piove di Sacco, Italy.

As a Software Engineer for Advanced Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and implementing control software for prototypes of industrial refrigeration units, collaborating closely with the advanced engineering group on high-innovation projects involving automation algorithms.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing automation algorithms for HVAC unit prototypes
• Testing control algorithms in Software In-the-Loop environment
• Selecting appropriate PLC targets based on resource requirements
• Implementing code on selected targets for prototypes
• Modifying and adding features to existing software
• Supporting laboratory tests on physical prototypes (automation parts only)

Qualifications for success:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial automation
• At least 3 years of PLC programming experience for HVAC units
• Ability to design automation software architecture for prototypes
• Proficiency in PLC I/O management
• Proficient in Office software
• Fluent in Italian and English (preferred)
• Knowledge of European/global HVAC regulations (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of LabView (preferred)
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, TCP/IP)
• Ability to write control algorithm test plans
• Team-oriented mindset
• Availability to support physical prototype testing in labs
