Punch Torino is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Automotive Firmware team in Turin. You will contribute to the development of low-level embedded software and Complex Drivers for ECUs, owning the lifecycle from requirements through verification and integration.

You will work with AUTOSAR-based platforms, RTOS, and modern Agile methods to deliver safe, cybersecure automotive software for leading customers.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Electronic, Computer or Software Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of C for embedded systems.
• Familiarity with MISRA-C guidelines.
• Experience with AUTOSAR and automotive firmware.
• Knowledge of RTOS and hardware-software interaction.
• Good English communication skills.

We are looking for a motivated and talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our Automotive Firmware team.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of low-level embedded software and Complex Drivers for next-generation Automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). You will own the software development lifecycle for assigned components, from requirements engineering and software design through implementation, verification, and integration.

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced automotive technologies, AUTOSAR-based platforms, virtual ECU environments, and modern Agile development methodologies, contributing to innovative solutions for leading automotive customers.

What you'll do

• Analyze system, hardware, and software requirements for automotive embedded applications;
• Derive, specify, and maintain low-level software requirements for Complex Drivers and hardware-near software components based on system and hardware requirements;
• Design software architectures and detailed technical solutions in compliance with automotive quality standards and AUTOSAR guidelines;
• Ensure software designs and implementations comply with applicable automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434) requirements;
• Develop, maintain, and optimize embedded software in C for real-time automotive systems;
• Define and execute unit testing and software verification activities;
• Support software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting on target hardware platforms;
• Produce and maintain software development artifacts and technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle;
• Collaborate with System, Hardware, Integration, and Validation teams to ensure end-to-end product quality;
• Contribute to continuous improvement, technical innovation, and software development best practices.

What we are looking for

• Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline;
• Strong knowledge of C programming for embedded systems;
• Familiarity with MISRA-C guidelines and embedded software best practices;
• Good understanding of microcontroller architectures, peripherals, and hardware-software interaction;
• Experience with automotive microcontroller families; experience with Infineon AURIX™ TC3xx is considered a strong asset;
• Understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS);
• Experience in automotive embedded firmware development and AUTOSAR architecture;
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434) concepts and their application to embedded software development;
• Familiarity with debugging and tracing tools such as Lauterbach TRACE32;
• Knowledge of software development tools and embedded toolchains;
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git;
• Familiarity with ASPICE-compliant automotive software development processes;
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python for development and automation activities;
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
