Job Introduction
Serco is a leading Space Services Provider with thousands of skilled resources that has supported over 50 space missions on behalf of more than 10 Space or Government agencies around the globe, including the ESA and NASA. Serco offers space capability across the full space lifecycle from satellite testing to launch services, LEOP to spacecraft operations, space surveillance to data management, and supporting downstream application development.

Main Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for leading projects, mentoring team members, and collaborating with consultants and industrial partners.

Assets required:

1. Proven experience in software development, with a strong portfolio of projects.
2. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
3. Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
4. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
6. Familiarity with Kubernetes & Container Orchestration for deploying and managing scalable applications.
7. Experience in delivering presentations, demos, and technical talks to stakeholders, clients, or internal teams.
8. Expert-level proficiency in English (both written and spoken). French language skill is a plus asset.

Successful Candidate
Your skills:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience in guiding and supporting team members to enhance their skills.
3. Analytical Thinking: familiarity with breaking down complex problems and designing effective solutions.
4. Technical Communication: experience in explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Active Listening and capability to understand requirements and feedback effectively.
6. Agility & Flexibility, adapting to project needs and shifting priorities. Positive behaviour in accepting new challenges.
