Honeywell is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in Roma. This role involves the installation and maintenance of Building Management Systems and requires substantial customer interaction across Central and Southern Italy. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering and related technical support experience.

We have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join us at Honeywell in Roma . You will be focused on install and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS), based on our Software EBI.

On a daily basis you will be driving forward actions, providing recommendations on how to enhance building performance, comfort improvements, occupant experience and providing Customers with the transparency to make more informed decisions. You will also be part of a team focused on driving new business expansion, particularly 3rd party service, creating new growth opportunities for our business The customers are in Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Data centers and other automation customers.

This is a field role, up to 90% of the time will be spent travelling to customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customers in the following areas : Central and Southern Italy (Sicilia and Sardegna included).

Key requirements

  • Act as a primary technical resource & customer support for various project and service contract sites
  • Service and maintenance of Honeywell and third-party equipment such as building integration equipment, CCTV and access control system
  • Provide Technical & Product support to internal & external customers
  • Provide technical support data for the Contracts, Sales, Project and Service teams and help negotiate technical issues at customer level
  • Deliver proactive and measurable outcomes for our Customers with a focus on occupant comfort, energy consumption and building-asset performance utilizing Connected Service technologies and EBI too;
  • Install and manage virtual servers
  • Activate and manage a simple network
  • Creating views, functions and stored procedures
  • Managing large scale MySQL databases, writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications. Creating database triggers for use in automation. The customers are in Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Data centers and other automation customers
  • Deliver a remote end user and systems support experience
  • Handling batch production jobs failures to meet the SLA on time
  • Using data & analytics compare the performance of the system against the intended functionality
  • Prepare engineering drawings and application projects specifically for Service Jobs
  • Install EBI, prepare graphics and necessary programming works as per specifications (Smart figure)

Key skills and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related
  • Minimum of 3 years’ Service / Technical Support experience in Controls / Process Automation or related field
  • Basic knowledge of electrical diagrams and electrical switching
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of Automation / Control systems within buildings (HVAC / Fire / Security), of Cyber Security and of IOT (internet of Things) Technology
  • Background in PLC and / or HMI based programming preferred
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate and CISCO Certification are a plus
