Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership on social impact to advance the human rights and social impact strategic agenda.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, liaising with relevant departments and legal entities within MSC Cargo to embed social topics across all business areas and meet targets.
- Develop and set principles, policies, and business requirements for social impact aligned with the human rights agenda.
- Offer expert advice, develop insights, and support the business and senior management with tools, measurement, and knowledge.
- Contribute to risk management and compliance activities related to social impacts and human rights, supporting risk mapping and mitigation strategies within the ERM framework.
- Coordinate and oversee projects related to the sustainability plan focusing on social and human rights issues.
- Liaise with departments and suppliers to ensure standards and policies are met across the supply chain.
- Analyze the impact of international legislation on MSC and design compliance actions.
- Monitor and report on MSC’s performance in social and human rights dimensions.
- Act as the main contact within collaborative platforms, industry associations, and stakeholders on social topics.
- Assist in developing and publishing the annual Sustainability Report, focusing on social impacts.
Qualifications & Education
- University degree in Social Sciences and Business Human Rights; advanced degrees are valued.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sustainability roles within complex organizations.
Skills / Experience / Knowledge
- Expert in business and human rights and social impact management.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate globally.
- Extensive knowledge of international regulations and human rights conventions.
- Experience in structuring Human Rights Due Diligence processes, especially in supply chain and transportation sectors.
- International experience and excellent language skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership in inspiring and coordinating teams.
- Setting strategic direction for social impact initiatives aligned with MSC’s sustainability goals.
- Overseeing social and human rights program implementation, including supply chain involvement.
- Understanding and responding to evolving international regulations like EU CSRD and CS DDD.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Stakeholders & Relationships
Internal : Sustainability VP, teams across MSC Cargo Division, HQ, and local entities.
External : Collaborative platforms, NGOs, international organizations.
