Senior Manager, Milan Facilities Management

As the Milan Facilities Manager, you are accountable for maintaining and improving our workplace, our buildings, and our facility services. Our ambition is to create a space for our employees that is a great place to work and reflects our core values for our colleagues and visitors. This includes various responsibilities—from providing a warm welcome at our reception desk to leading projects for expanding our site. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders and lead a small team of facilities professionals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Manager, Milan Facilities Management (“Facilities Manager”) is responsible for direct oversight of ASM’s LPE Milan facility, including:
  • Developing and monitoring budgets and approving contracts to meet current and future needs.
  • Overseeing all building operations, including repairs, refurbishments, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management systems.
  • Contracting and managing performance for facilities services, including cleaning, security, and reception.
  • Ensuring building operations meet service standards and comply with all local laws and regulations.
  • Developing budgets, policies, and procedures to support infrastructure, including manufacturing and office space management, site security, maintenance, cleanliness, aesthetics, vehicle traffic, mobility, and parking.
  • Leading a small team of facilities professionals and contractors for facilities management.
  • Leading the Milan site Emergency Response Team (ERT) and providing leadership in crisis management and emergency responses related to facilities.
  • Representing facilities matters as part of Milan’s Leadership Team, including sustainability and hybrid work programs.
  • Providing strategic, operational, and tactical oversight for on-site contractors, focusing on safety, quality, service levels, and customer feedback.
  • Representing the Milan Site in internal and external audits and safety/security certifications.
  • Contributing to the Milan site expansion and redesign programs, offering operational input and innovative space configuration ideas.
  • Working with key leaders on program timelines, directing contractors to meet project goals.
  • Establishing a ‘mobility program’ to promote sustainable transportation options, such as carpooling, micro-mobility, and alternative transport methods.
  • Collaborating with regional mobility managers to share best practices and ideas.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills in both Italian and English.
  • At least five years of experience in facilities management roles.
  • At least three years of people management experience in facilities management.
  • Experience working with diverse executive stakeholders.
  • Proactive mindset with a can-do attitude; self-starter who drives solutions to complex problems.
  • Project management experience, including planning and delivering results.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
