    General Position Description

    The "home office" for this role is in Orlando, FL, but the actual work location may vary.

    The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for ensuring maximum safety performance and awareness by overseeing safety and health policies and procedures in the Conti Safety, Health, and Environmental Program. The SSHO will implement the project Site Safety and Health Plans, work closely with management to analyze safety trends, and lead safety improvement initiatives.

    Responsibilities
    1. Develop safety trend analyses and recommend improvements.
    2. Deliver weekly safety talks with relevant content.
    3. Establish professional relationships with clients and inspectors.
    4. Maintain all safety documentation onsite.
    5. Ensure personnel have appropriate safety training and equipment.
    6. Provide coaching on safety best practices.
    7. Collaborate on hazard analysis and work planning to eliminate or reduce hazards.
    8. Develop daily safety checklists and involve work crews in hazard communication.
    9. Implement and enforce safety and health plans.
    10. Research safety supplies and equipment for quality and cost-effectiveness.
    11. Monitor safety performance and recommend corrective actions.
    12. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and plans.
    13. Deliver safety, health, and environmental training.
    14. Investigate near misses and accidents, and recommend corrective actions.
    15. Work with employees and medical professionals to minimize injury impacts.
    Qualifications
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or EU Citizen.
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Card (valid within the past 5 years).
    • Current First Aid / CPR certification.
    • At least 24 hours of recent safety and occupational health training (excluding OSHA 30).
    • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience managing or implementing safety programs on similar projects.
    • Certification by BCSP as a CHST, OHST, ASP, SMS, or CSP preferred.
