About This Role

Join CAE’s Simulator Technician team based in Sesto Calende, Italy, working on advanced level simulators (helicopters). Due to the unrivalled range of simulators at our training centre, your role will be incredibly varied, giving you the opportunity to work on a wide range of the most modern simulators, systems, and equipment to enhance your technical knowledge. It is a 24 / 7 operation the shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off (4 days 4 off 4 nights 4 off)

Our team has opportunities across all levels within the function, so there is a progression path available beyond this position.

In this role, the Simulator Technician I will be expected to :

• Perform complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory.
• Projects may be of experimental or design nature.
• Solve a variety of complex simulator and / or aircraft systems problems.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

• Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
• Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
• Complete all designated training activities.
• Perform pre-flight and post flight on designated simulators.
• Perform basic visual alignments.
• Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
• Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
• Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
• Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
• Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing / validation.
• Perform administrative tasks as required.
• Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required

Our ideal candidate has :

• College diploma / degree in any of the following : electronics / mechatronics / aeronautics / mechanics
• College diploma / degree is not a must but candidates ideally must have some hands technical experience if they have no transferable educational background.
• Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
• Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
• Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).
• Knowledge in analogue and digital theory.
• Computer literate (PC and / or computer mainframe / architecture).
• Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.
• Some Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
• Fluency in English or Italian
