Nelson Miller Group is a leading engineering and manufacturing provider established in 1904. We seek a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to manage inbound/outbound goods, ensure on-time shipping, and support production flow.

You will work within a team to maintain accurate shipping records and comply with ERP procedures. The role requires 1–2 years in warehousing, basic math, and proficiency with Windows and Excel.

Competenze

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years warehousing or distribution experience; forklift and pallet jack a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Excel; familiarity with WMS and barcode scanners.
  • Strong safety, quality, and SOP compliance.

Mansioni

  • Set up shipping and receiving department and coordinate daily activities.
  • Coordinate shipments for each day; ship today’s shipments before day end.
  • Coordinate with office for invoicing and provide packing receipts to Accounting.
  • Prepare shipping paperwork and pack orders with proper boxes, labels, and postage.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and reorder as needed.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager and other leadership.

Job Summary:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk manages the flow of inbound and outbound goods to effectively and efficiently support the manufacturing and delivery of product for our customers. This individual arrives on time daily and complies with company policy concerning attendance.

Responsibilities:
  • Set up shipping and receiving department and coordinate for daily activities.
  • Coordinate shipments for each day. Shipments for the current day must be shipped before the end of the day and not carry into the next day.
  • Coordinate with office personnel for proper invoicing and provide packing receipts to Accounting.
  • Prepare proper shipping paperwork and pack orders, including preparing products safely with proper boxes, labels, and postage.
  • Keep inventory of shipping supplies and reorder supplies as required.
  • Maintain good communications with the Operation Manager and other department leadership.
  • Complete all required timesheets, work orders, and sales orders daily.
  • Assist Material Handling and warehouse staffers as needed or assigned.
  • Act as backup to Material Handling as needed.
  • Responsible for knowledge and adheres to all ERP procedures regarding shipping and packaging.
  • Responsible for knowledge and adheres to, and promotion of, quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Responsible for adherence to and promotion of maximum safety standards.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications:
  • Education/Learning Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Warehousing and inventory control with knowledge of hand truck operation. Minimum of 1-2 year warehouse experience, distribution center, or clerical role preferred. Forklift and pallet jack operation is a plus.
  • Skills/Knowledge:
  • Independence: Capable of working independently under standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Safety & Quality Focus: A strong commitment to adhering to and promoting maximum safety standards, quality policies, procedures, work instructions, ISO9000 standards, and ITAR regulations.
  • Computer Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Windows and office software (like Excel) required, plus warehouse management systems or barcode scanners preferred.
  • Attention to detail: Ability to cross-reference purchase orders, invoices, and bills of lading to prevent shipping errors. Basic arithmetic to count inventory, weigh items, and verify quantities.
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to coordinate with truck drivers, vendors, and internal staff
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of frequent lifting, bending, stooping, standing, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour (Pay to be determined by the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data).
