Shipping Manager

Our client, a leading shipping and logistics provider, is seeking a capable and driven professional to lead shipping operations in Liberia. As Shipping Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day shipping activities, managing a diverse team, and driving efficiency and client satisfaction in a dynamic and expanding market.

This role is based in Liberia, West Africa.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and supervising the daily operations of the shipping team to ensure a high standard of service
• Managing communication and coordination with both existing clients and potential new customers
• Overseeing cash flow for operations and ensuring timely closure of files in cooperation with the Finance Department
• Supporting the development of operational and HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality and Environment) policies and practices
• Representing the shipping function in internal and external meetings
• Identifying opportunities for departmental development and training staff in collaboration with the General Manager

What You'll Bring to the Table

• 5 plus years' experience in shipping and logistics, including team leadership
• Strong background in shipping operations and customer management
• Effective people management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound knowledge of the shipping industry and technical know-how
