Work Schedule: Part time or Full Time, will work with school schedule with more hours available during breaks.
The Service Technician Apprentice reports directly to the Lead Mechanic. A Service Technician Apprentice is skilled in the use of tools but lacks advanced experience and knowledge necessary for the more in-depth repair and rebuilding of equipment and generally assists more skilled technicians and does other duties as assigned. A Service Technician Apprentice will have closer supervision initially, but will be developed to be more independent in their work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest. The employee must have the ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to reach all working areas. The employee must have the ability to endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools. The employee must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations. The employee must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts. The employee must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment.

High school diploma or equivalent education level is required. Working toward, or having just completed an Associates Degree Program in diesel/heavy equipment repair.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to leaders and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
