Service Engineer AUV

The position:
Our family of AUV's, including the HUGIN vehicles, offer the ultimate in autonomous remote subsea survey capability. These free-swimming autonomous underwater vehicles are characterized by great maneuverability and high accuracy of stabilization. Hydrodynamic shape, accurate instruments, and excellent battery capacity make these AUV's ideal choices for commercial and defense applications. Key accountabilities:

1. Technical support on Subsea and AUV systems
2. General support activities and technical assistance to customers
3. Service trips to vessels for both Subsea and AUV systems
4. AUV post mission analysis and evaluation
5. AUV mission planning and sea trials
6. Commissioning work on new builds and refits with Project Engineers and Project Managers
7. Technical assistance to sales, marketing, and aftermarket sales
8. Follow up with appropriate technical lead after service jobs
9. Develop qualifications by participating in internal and external courses
10. Maintain certifications through annual online certification tests
11. Report problems and suggest improvements using KD quality tools and quality control
12. Provide customer support and training for new and existing customers both in house and in the field
13. Documents test results with appropriate information in a complete manner and communicates to all required
14. Reads and interprets specific test procedures to properly perform and document test results
15. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with product quality standards
16. Work in the field unsupervised

Qualifications and experience:

1. Electronics, telecom, surveyor or similar degree
2. Be customer oriented, "service minded", and focused on quality
3. Knowledge and experience with basic networking
4. Team player who is flexible, responsible, and dependable
5. Ability to handle simultaneous activities and work in a dynamic environment
6. Experience with commissioning, test and maintenance of electronics and mechanics
7. Experience with network setup and installation/test of system software
8. Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field
9. Travel 50% or more to meet client needs, position requires extensive domestic and international travel and work aboard offshore vessels
10. Proficient written and oral skills in English
11. Ready and motivated for world-wide support activities
12. Knowledge of and experience with Kongsberg Discovery products is an advantage

Certificates and licenses:

1. Valid driver’s license
2. Current valid Passport
