The Human Technopole Foundation (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, aimed at developing innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience, and health data science. HT fosters interdisciplinary research and creates an open, collaborative environment to promote life science research nationally and internationally. HT also operates National Facilities to make its technologies, methods, and tools available to the scientific community.

The Human Technopole Foundation is seeking a Service Desk Engineer.

Under the supervision of the Service Desk Coordinator, the successful candidate will assist users with daily issues related to their company assets (Laptop, Mobile Phone, etc.) and resolve issues promptly via tickets.

The candidate will collaborate with colleagues from Administration and Research to understand needs and support users to ensure a smooth user experience.

Main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Desk Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for various operating systems (MacOS, Windows, Linux, mobile), assist users with company assets, diagnose and resolve issues via ticketing systems, perform initial incident assessments, and implement solutions remotely or on-site.
  • Hardware & Software Management: Install, configure, modify, and repair hardware, software, and peripherals for end-users.
  • IT Helpdesk Services: Offer reliable IT helpdesk support, manage and document support requests via ticketing and monitoring systems to ensure high service quality and user satisfaction.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain up-to-date user guides, tutorials, and IT product information.
  • Asset and License Management: Oversee IT asset management, license tracking, and software catalog definition for the research center.

Requirements

Mandatory:

  • High school diploma in Information Technology or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support roles in an enterprise environment
  • Good knowledge of Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Administration Portal
  • Experience with MDM systems (Jamf, Intune)
  • Fluency in English

Demonstrated experience in:

  • Supporting MacOS, Windows, Linux, and mobile OS
  • Hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
  • Using ticketing systems and asset management tools

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Familiarity with command-line tools (Terminal, PowerShell, CMD)
  • Basic network troubleshooting knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of Antivirus Systems
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent
