Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced Automation & Control Engineer to shape sustainable shipping by developing and implementing energy and propulsion concepts for global clients. You will work on generators, batteries, and fuel cells from system engineering to on-board commissioning, impacting hybrid propulsion developments.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver automated control, power management, and digital solutions, contributing to decarbonization efforts in marine transport.

Competenze

• Engineering degree in Automation & Control or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum four years of relevant work experience in related fields.
• Proficiency with Siemens automation tools (TIA Portal) and HMI development.

Mansioni

• Collaborate with TIA, STARTER and digital solutions teams to create automation and drive system solutions for various ship types.
• Support implementation of new DC concepts, developing software projects with solar and fuel cells.
• Contribute to technologies for supervising and controlling power management and hybrid propulsion systems for inland ferries, Navy vessels and yachts.
• Manage automated onboard systems, ensuring integration of control levels, power management and propulsion.
• Participate in factory system tests to validate systems before installation and ensure high quality and functionality.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Collaborate with TIA, STARTER, and digital solutions teams to create automation and drive system solutions for various ship types.
• Support the implementation of new direct current concepts, developing software projects that incorporate renewable energy sources like solar cells and fuel cells.
• Contribute to technologies for supervising and controlling power management and hybrid propulsion systems for inland water ferries, Navy vessels, and yachts.
• Manage automated systems onboard, ensuring seamless integration of control levels, power management, and propulsion systems.
• Participate in factory system tests to validate systems before installation, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and functionality.

What You Bring

• A high school diploma or degree in Engineering Automation & Control, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on Automation, Drive Technology, or Power Engineering.
• At least four years of relevant work experience in related fields, showcasing your expertise.
• Advanced proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal, SCL, Simatic Manager, and HMI development.
• Understanding of control systems theory, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution networks.
• Proficiency in Italian and English (minimum B2 level), with strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

The total compensation package for this position, including both fixed and variable components, ranges between € 50.000 – € 68.000 gross per year.

Salary ranges for this role are provided in accordance with applicable local legislation. The stated range is based on the Italian labour market.

Where a role may be performed in multiple locations in Italy or abroad, compensation will vary depending on factors such as market conditions, including the local cost of living, as well as experience and qualifications. In such cases, the specific salary range for the location of interest will be communicated in the early stages of the recruitment process and, in any case, before any potential offer of employment is made.
