Amazon is looking for a perceptive, team-oriented, and analytical IT&ES Senior Vendor Manager to join the Books team focusing on one of the most challenging retail businesses at Amazon.

As an IT&ES Senior Vendor Manager, you will be the main point of contact for several vendor partners, focusing on facilitating the business relationship, supporting growth, and improving business terms through joint business plans.

You will support the Category's growth by assisting with store marketing promotions, fostering vendor relationships to maximize selection, and responding to industry-related economic trends.

You will also act as a primary advocate for our customers: externally, understanding the changing competitive landscape and industry trends relevant to customer selection and experience; internally, leveraging key metrics to develop customer insights for innovation and partnering with internal teams to implement business improvements that deliver value.

This role is based in our Milan Offices, Italy.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Facilitate strong relationships and initiate discussions with vendors to increase selection and engage them in growth opportunities.
  2. Analyze customer data and market segments to identify selection gaps and seek out new vendors.
  3. Shape and manage promotional strategies for vendors, delivering compelling offers to customers that drive profitable growth.
  4. Seek ways to automate and simplify manual processes to improve productivity.
  5. Collaborate closely with marketing specialists, stock, and product management teams for your category.
  6. Monitor the performance of your product category, customer experience, and operational efficiency to determine your success.
Basic qualifications
  • Several years of professional experience, ideally in e-commerce, retail, finance, or consulting.
  • Experience building senior-level internal and external relationships.
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence others.
  • Strong communication skills and self-critical speaking ability.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in planning and forecasting.
  • Technical aptitude and agility to learn web-based tools.
  • Proven ownership, results-driven mindset, and ability to act swiftly.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Knowledge of Excel and database management.
  • University degree, preferably in economics, management, engineering, or a technical discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
Preferred qualifications
  • MBA from a leading business school.
  • Cross-functional experience, especially in finance, marketing, or supply chain.
  • Marketing skills and customer-centric mindset with innovative prowess.
  • Experience with SQL is a plus.
