Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Vehicle Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA, IT.

Accountabilities
  1. Support and coordinate during the bid and project development of the technical design of system
  2. Define the conceptual solution of Equipment Integration on vehicles
  3. Prepare system requirements specifications of mechanical systems
  4. Analyze Suppliers' technical proposals
  5. Check the technical description of the system
  6. Verify drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation/integration on board
  7. Check FEM analysis reports
  8. Perform tolerance concept & analysis for equipment integration
  9. Prepare/verify performance test specifications
  10. Support during system type tests
  11. Assist during onboard integration tests
  12. Conduct design reviews with Clients and Suppliers
Required Skills/Knowledge
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in the railway or mechanical industry as a Vehicle Engineer or mechanical integrator
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical schemes, bolted and riveted connections
  • Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics
  • Proficiency in office automation software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia) and IBM DOORS
  • Understanding of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations
  • Ability to work effectively across all organizational levels, contributing constructively
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, international environment
  • Ability to work independently in teams and on projects
  • Availability for short-term national and international travel
