We are seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to support our commercial department in Norwich, UK, and Naples, Italy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in securing profitable project opportunities by preparing and submitting client-focused proposals.
Responsibilities
- Examine tender documentation, including operational provisions, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers, partners, and internal departments to define deliverables.
- Define and propose technical solutions, methodologies, execution strategies, and draft work schedules.
- Perform cost calculations and project budgeting.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and company guidelines.
- Engage with clients throughout the bid cycle, attending meetings as needed.
- Maintain thorough records throughout the bidding process for approval, traceability, and project handover.
- Participate in business development activities, including conference / trade show attendance.
- Manage relationships with customers during the tender clarification stages.
- Develop and execute tender strategies to meet client requirements.
- Oversee document management, ensuring proper distribution, collection, and archiving of tender-related materials.
- Conduct peer reviews for each tender to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Technical, Contract, and Procurement Departments on method statements and technical solutions.
- Work with the Planning & Risk Manager to assess tender risks.
- Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and expertise to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the tendering process.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role (tender, bid, or proposal manager) within an offshore / marine environment.
- Prior knowledge or experience with geotechnical or geophysical tenders is preferred.
- Strong deadline management skills with a flexible and commercially driven approach.
- Attention to detail and a curious mindset.
- Persuasive with excellent presentation and leadership skills.
