Job Description :

Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Telecom Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Naples, Italy.

Accountabilities
  1. Support the integration of Telecom subsystems during bid and project development phases (Design & Build phase), focusing on Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Emergency Call Point Systems (ECP), and Radio systems.
  2. Assist in identifying, managing, and fulfilling contractual requirements.
  3. Prepare subsystem requirement specifications.
  4. Support the development of Conceptual, Detail, and Installation Designs based on requirements analysis.
  5. Identify and resolve interfaces with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Signaling, Civil Works, Rolling Stock, SCADA, HSE, RAMS, QA).
  6. Ensure standard designs are updated according to technological innovations.
  7. Prepare functional and performance test specifications.
  8. Create configuration templates based on standard designs.
  9. Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Factory Integration Tests (FIT).
  10. Assist during commissioning activities, coaching onsite resources as needed.
  11. Supervise execution of commissioning and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  12. Support system testing during trial runs.
  13. Assist O&M department with Level 2/3 maintenance activities.
  14. Help manage obsolescence of Telecom solutions, proposing new solutions aligned with market trends and railway requirements.
Skills / Knowledge
  • Up to 5 years of experience in the telecom field.
  • Proficiency with office automation software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of telecommunications, electrical engineering, electronics, and basic mechanics.
  • Familiarity with networking systems, VoIP call managers, Linux OS systems.
  • Ability to manage integration and troubleshooting of these disciplines.
  • Effective collaboration skills across all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, international environment with travel availability.
  • Preferred knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software (AutoCAD) and IBM DOORS.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).
