Qualifications:

  1. Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience.
  2. Detailed knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) communications, router / switch based networks, routing protocols, with specific expertise on Cisco products and technologies.
  3. Ability to understand, assess, and resolve technical issues in a troubleshooting environment under time pressure.
  4. 2+ years recent practical experience within a CIS Service Operations environment.
  5. 2+ years recent practical experience of configuring, installing, and troubleshooting industry-standard desktop Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  6. Recent working knowledge of TCP / IP Protocols and Standards.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience :

  1. Knowledge of policy, procedures, and organisation of NATO CIS.
  2. Experience in maintaining and operating NATO crypto equipment.
  3. Experience in working in a Service Desk environment.
  4. Certification or qualification in PC hardware repair and configuration.
  5. Formal training in Local Area Networks (LAN).
  6. Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
  7. Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT).

DUTIES / ROLE :

  1. Execute assigned work orders, often under the direction and guidance of centralized services, to provide local intervention to ensure SLA targets are met.
  2. Install and configure Desktop Services.
  3. Install, operate, protect, maintain, and support all local Voice and Data communication, Network, Audio / Video, and VTC equipment.
  4. Install, operate, and maintain Routing and Switching equipment, VoIP, and VTC infrastructures and circuits.
  5. Perform advanced analysis and troubleshooting of Desktop, Communications, and Network Services, supporting incident management processes.
  6. Perform testing and evaluation of supported hardware and software (firmware and drivers).
  7. Handle Incident Support Request lifecycle services affecting end-users (creating, reporting, tracking, resolving, and closing Incidents).
  8. Support team members through collaborative actions to enhance customer experience.
  9. Perform corrective actions, under the direction of the Branch Head, to support Problem Management.
  10. Contribute to recommendations for Continued Service Improvement and procurement processes for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of approved equipment.
  11. Participate in a Duty Support Shift, which may operate on a 24/7 basis.
  12. Deputise for higher-grade staff if necessary.
  13. Perform other duties within the NCI Agency's scope as required.
