We are seeking a highly motivated (Senior) Technical Expert with a curious mind and a passion for solving problems to lead Wärtsilä's efforts in fuel system troubleshooting and development. We welcome candidates at various levels of seniority, as this role can also be offered as a Senior Technical Expert.
The preferred location for this position is ideally in Vaasa (Finland) or in Turku (Finland) or Trieste (Italy). For those with specific Wärtsila product knowledge, we could also consider Genova (Italy). In line with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.
As a (Senior) Technical Expert, you will work with technical queries from end customers. You will solve complex technical and operational problems, propose product improvements to meet quality targets, and ultimately ensure customer satisfaction. This role bridges the gap between theory and practice, field operations, and RDE, bringing field incident experience to developers and suppliers to prevent re-occurrence.
This role is essential for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our fuel systems. As we expand our methanol installations and transition towards more sustainable marine fuels, the expertise provided by this position will be crucial in optimising performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring seamless integration of new technologies. You will be strong technically with ideally methanol but also diesel and other alternative fuels (HVO / Ethanol). Our future fuels projects are at the forefront of our technology roadmap. Your knowledge during commissioning with auxiliary fuel components (for example - pumps, filters, separators, pressure regulators, flow metering, injectors) will be drawn on to provide internal support. Experience working with integrator shipyard fuel system partners and their technology would also be advantageous.
Your diagnostic skills and ability to tackle complex challenges will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and upholding our high standards of performance.
