Specialista Senior / Project Manager

At Evotec's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, the Global IT Systems Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated System Engineer (all genders) Virtualization for a full-time and permanent position.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop virtualization solutions that optimize resource utilization and performance.
2. Integrate virtualization technologies into existing IT infrastructures while ensuring compatibility, security, and efficiency.
3. Manage day-to-day operations, including applying updates, patches, and configuration changes.
4. Monitor systems proactively, analyze issues, and implement timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
5. Stay updated on emerging technologies and implement improvements in virtualization infrastructure.
6. Automate processes to streamline service provisioning and reduce manual work.

Additional Tasks:

1. Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams and configurations.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams for seamless integration and operation.
3. Continuously monitor performance and security, identifying and preventing potential issues.
4. Provide expert advice and support to end users on virtualization solutions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
2. Proven experience with virtualization technologies.
3. Strong understanding of kernel-based virtualization and associated tools.
4. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation.
5. Familiarity with virtual networking concepts (virtual switches, VLANs, software-defined networking).
6. Experience with virtual and software-defined storage solutions.
7. Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
