Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech? Vishay Italy is currently seeking applicants for the Sr. Staff, System Applications Engineer position to join our growing team to develop integrated circuits at the heart of modern power systems. We are seeking a self-driven Senior System Applications Engineer who enjoys collaborating with marketing and other engineering teams to understand marketing requirements and translate them into product specifications. They will work closely with design engineers to ensure the products deliver market-leading performance at both silicon and system levels. A broad range of industry experience is desired, but specific experience in power management products for high-performance computing, automotive, industrial, or networking applications is most valuable.

In this position, the successful candidate will work with an experienced team to convert ideas into products and bring them to market. This is a senior role providing the opportunity to create real impact within the organization and help define the roadmap for the entire business.

Job Location:

The VISHAY IC Design Team located in Northern Italy will be tasked with defining, designing, and bringing to production complex analog & mixed power management ICs that will be at the core of high-performance computing systems.

What you will be doing:

• Own the product definition of new power management solutions to ensure their success in the market.
• Collaborate with marketing and leading customers to understand system requirements.
• Translate marketing and system requirements into product specifications and validation plans.
• Work closely with design, marketing, product, and test engineering teams to ensure understanding of product requirements and operating conditions.
• Support less-experienced applications engineers in product validation.
• Design and implement applications evaluation and system boards, including schematic and layout work.
• Write and publish application notes and white papers to promote products.
• Assist with design-in and system-level validations on key customer programs.
• Travel 1 to 2 times per quarter domestically or internationally as needed.

What you will bring along:

• PhD or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
• 15+ years of experience in applications engineering, product definition, or designing power management solutions.
• Experience working directly with customers in high-performance computing, industrial, automotive, or infrastructure markets.
• Knowledge of power conversion products and topologies.
• Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools such as Simplis, Matlab, Cadence, etc.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and mentor less experienced members.
