Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Tech Lead for US Payroll to architect and scale an enterprise-grade platform serving SMBs to large enterprises. You will partner with the Director of Engineering to shape architecture, drive key technical decisions, and uphold engineering excellence across multiple teams.

You will mentor engineers, implement best practices, and establish metrics to improve velocity and quality, while influencing strategy across product areas.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven leadership in organizations with 30+ engineers.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Excellence in technical communication and documentation, mentorship history.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Engineering processes at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale an enterprise-grade payroll platform.
• Partner with Director of Engineering to shape architecture and decisions.
• Implement cross-cutting improvements, migrations, bottleneck elimination.
• Mentor engineers and reinforce high-performance culture.
• Establish metrics/KPIs and drive post-mortems to reduce friction.
• Collaborate with product and design for alignment across teams.
