Job summary

Deel is seeking a Senior Tech Lead for US Payroll to architect and scale an enterprise-grade platform serving SMBs to large enterprises. This role partners with the Director of Engineering to drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and uphold engineering excellence.

You will mentor senior engineers, drive cross-team improvements, and shape a high-performance culture to support rapid growth and global payroll infrastructure. Remote work is flexible with WeWork access.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience.
Proven leadership in organizations with 30+ engineers.
Strong system design and architecture skills.
Excellence in technical communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

Architect and scale an enterprise-grade US Payroll platform.
Partner with the Director of Engineering to shape architecture and drive key decisions.
Mentor engineers and reinforce a high-performance culture.
Drive technical decisions, architecture reviews, velocity and quality.
Represent engineering leadership in planning with product and design for cross-product alignment.
Implement engineering best practices and scalable processes.
Establish metrics, drive post-mortems, and reduce organizational friction.
Bridge engineering with wider leadership to influence strategy across teams.
