Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Developer to lead our platform’s technical direction at Jane Software. This crucial role will shape our technical strategy, leveraging advanced cloud technologies and scalable architectures to support our growth.

In addition to cloud expertise, you will provide technical leadership in application development and architectural practices, working closely with our foundations teams. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide our senior and staff developers, fostering their professional development and enhancing our engineering practices. Your leadership will ensure Jane Software scales effectively, meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

The role offers a minimum annual salary of $175,600 and a maximum of $285,400. The salary range reflects growth potential in the role, with typical full accomplishment between $208,600 and $219,500. Salaries above or below this range are for those with varying levels of experience and impact at Jane. We pay for growth and career development, with ongoing conversations about compensation and progression.

The experience we feel we need…

  • Extensive application development experience, including front-end, back-end, and API development with modern languages and frameworks. Experience scaling companies through growth phases, especially with large development teams, is highly valued.
  • Leadership in cloud computing and DevOps/SRE, with experience in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and related practices.
  • Expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, automated testing, security protocols, and robust architecture design.
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead teams, articulate vision, and drive technical excellence.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, LaunchDarkly), Docker, Ruby on Rails, React, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of tackling complex issues and driving innovation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying strategies to diverse stakeholders and leading across multiple teams.
  • Confidence to lead decision-making with a collaborative approach, demonstrating successful execution examples.
