Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Developer to lead our platform’s technical direction at Jane Software. This crucial role will shape our technical strategy, leveraging advanced cloud technologies and scalable architectures to support our growth.

In addition to cloud expertise, you will provide technical leadership in application development and architectural practices, working closely with our foundations teams. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide our senior and staff developers, fostering their professional development and enhancing our engineering practices. Your leadership will ensure Jane Software scales effectively, meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

The minimum annual salary is $175,600, and the maximum is $285,400. The range reflects growth potential in the role. New hires are typically targeted between $208,600 and $219,500, with adjustments based on experience and impact.

We pay for growth, and your salary will increase as you develop your skills and impact.

The experience we feel we need…

  • Strong application development background, including front-end, back-end, and APIs, with experience scaling companies through growth phases.
  • Experience in cloud computing, DevOps/SRE, infrastructure as code, CI/CD.
  • Extensive AWS (or similar) platform experience; GCP or Azure beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of quality assurance, security, and automated testing.
  • Proven mentorship and leadership in technical teams.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, Docker, frameworks like Rails and React.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and innovation skills.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, experience leading large, cross-functional teams.
  • Confidence to lead decision-making with openness to ideas, focusing on execution and continuous improvement.
