Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Staff Developer to lead our platform’s technical direction at Jane Software. This crucial role will shape our technical strategy, leveraging advanced cloud technologies and scalable architectures to support our growth.

In addition to cloud expertise, you will provide technical leadership in application development and architectural practices, working closely with our foundations teams. As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide our senior and staff developers, fostering their professional development and enhancing our engineering practices. Your leadership will ensure Jane Software scales effectively, meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

The role offers a minimum annual salary of $175,600 and a maximum of $285,400. This range reflects growth potential within the role, from building skills to achieving excellence.

New hires are typically set at a salary between $208,600 and $219,500, representing full achievement potential. Salaries below this range indicate potential but less experience; above this range indicate significant impact and expertise. We pay for growth and career development, with ongoing conversations about salary progression.

The experience we feel we need…

  • Strong application development background, including front-end, back-end, and API development, with experience in scaling companies with large development teams.
  • Leadership in cloud computing and DevOps/SRE, with experience in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and related tools.
  • Expertise with AWS (or similar), GCP, or Azure.
  • Deep understanding of quality assurance, automated testing, security protocols.
  • Proven mentorship and leadership in technical environments.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, Docker, frameworks like Ruby on Rails, React.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and influence skills.
  • Excellent communication, with experience leading large, cross-functional teams through influence and guidance.
  • Confidence to lead decision-making with an openness to ideas, emphasizing execution and continuous improvement.
