A leading company is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to design and implement digital solutions across industrial environments. The role demands extensive experience in asset-heavy industries, particularly Oil & Gas and Mining, and expertise in Digital Twin technologies, data architectures, and integration with OT systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with teams to innovate and enhance operational effectiveness, ensuring high-quality outcomes aligned with organizational and industry standards.
Job Description - Senior Solutions Architect (AUS0092) :
Job Specific Knowledge : The Solutions Architect must have deep expertise in designing and implementing integrated digital solutions across complex industrial environments, with hands-on experience developing robust solution and data architectures that support real-time operations, advanced analytics, and scalable digital ecosystems. A strong understanding of Digital Twin technologies, data ingestion pipelines, and industrial IoT frameworks is essential, particularly within asset-intensive industries. The role requires familiarity with the entire technology stack—from edge data capture and control systems such as SCADA and PLCs to cloud-based analytics platforms—and the ability to align these components within an enterprise-wide architecture. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in data governance principles, system interoperability, and cyber-physical integration to ensure solutions are both technically sound and operationally effective. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive architectures across technology, application, data, integration, and security domains aligned with client reference models and delivery requirements; producing detailed implementation artifacts such as infrastructure diagrams, network segmentation schemes, platform deployment views, and system interface specifications; translating enterprise architecture and program objectives into actionable designs that guide procurement and vendor assessment; and applying architectural governance to ensure compliance with standards like IEC 62443, ISA-95, OPC UA, MQTT, and Namur Open Architecture. The Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with internal teams and client stakeholders—including OT, IT, cybersecurity, and engineering—to gather requirements, validate assumptions, and coordinate architectural inputs, while defining integration and interoperability models across ISA-95 levels 1 through 4 to support hybrid edge / cloud deployments and secure segmented networks. Maintaining traceability of business and functional requirements through architecture artifacts using tools such as Orbus Infinity is also a key responsibility.
Industry Specific Experience : The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience delivering digital solutions within asset-heavy industries, specifically in Oil & Gas and / or Mining. This experience should include working closely with operational, engineering, and IT teams to design and implement systems that improve asset performance, operational efficiency, and safety.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training : The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. A strong academic foundation in system architecture, software development, or data engineering is important, complemented by practical, hands-on experience in implementing digital solutions within industrial environments. Advanced certifications such as TOGAF, AWS / GCP / Azure Certified Solutions Architect, or other recognized enterprise architecture credentials are highly valued.
HSE Capability Competent
IT Skills : The Solutions Architect must have a strong command of industrial IT and OT systems, with hands-on experience in technologies such as OPC UA, ETL pipelines, IoT frameworks, and real-time data platforms. Proficiency in integrating data from control systems (., SCADA, DCS, PLCs) into cloud or hybrid environments is essential, as is an understanding of edge computing and time-series data management. Familiarity with Digital Twin platforms like CDF, iTwin, AIM, SDx is highly desirable. The candidate should also be comfortable working across a variety of programming and scripting environments (., Python, SQL) and have a solid understanding of API-based architectures, data security, and systems interoperability in industrial settings.
People Skills : Effective communicator and team leader, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Other : Team collaboration, strong listening skills, attention to details, problem solving attitude, diplomatic but firm.
Role’s Metrics :
The Solutions Architect’s performance will be measured by their ability to deliver high-quality architectural designs and solutions on time, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and cybersecurity policies. Success will also be evaluated based on chargeability and customer satisfaction
