Senior Software Engineer (Clojure) – Remote LATAM

At Sombra Inc. we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Clojure to join our engineering team.

This role is focused on designing and implementing decisioning models in a high-availability, high-performance financial platform. You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to model and evolve the core logic that supports loan eligibility, risk assessment, and business rule execution.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain Clojure-based services.
• Build scalable, fault-tolerant solutions for financial decisioning.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering leadership.
• Optimize performance and ensure high availability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to solid documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong expertise in Clojure and functional programming principles.
• Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem (Java interop, tooling).
• Proven experience building production-grade services in financial or data-heavy systems.
• Solid understanding of API design and integration.
