Roboze is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with proven expertise in industrial automation to join our team in Italy. You will work on B&R PLCs, develop software compliant with IEC 61131-3 (Structured Text), and contribute to real-time control systems for machine design applications.

You will shape software architecture, collaborate on automation projects, review diagrams, and support commissioning while using Git for version control and fluent English is required.

Competenze

• At least 5 years in industrial automation or similar
• Proven experience with B&R PLCs and IEC 61131-3 ST
• Knowledge of real-time control and deterministic systems
• Experience IT/OT integration (SQL, MES/ERP) and TCP/IP

• Develop and maintain software for B&R PLCs using IEC 61131-3 languages (Structured Text)
• Design and implement control logic for real-time automation systems
• Collaborate on machine design translating requirements into software architecture

Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with solid experience in industrial automation, motivated and problem-solving oriented, to join our team. The candidate will work on B&R PLCs, developing software according to the IEC 61131-3 standard, within real-time control systems for automation and machine design applications. We are looking for a senior, autonomous, and structured profile, capable of actively contributing to technical decisions, software architecture definition, and the continuous improvement of developed solutions.

What your tasks will be

• Develop and maintain software for B&R PLCs, using languages compliant with the IEC 61131-3 standard (primarily Structured Text).
• Design and implement control logic for automation systems in a real-time environment.
• Collaborate on machine design, translating functional requirements into software architectures.
• Analyze and interpret electrical and pneumatic diagrams to correctly integrate automation solutions.
• Support the commissioning phase and provide advanced technical support to customer care.
• Manage software versioning through Git, contributing to maintaining high code quality standards.

What we are looking for

• At least 5 years of experience in the industrial automation sector or similar roles, with direct technical responsibilities.
• Proven experience in B&R PLC programming.
• In-depth knowledge of the IEC 61131-3 standard and proven experience in Structured Text (ST).
• Understanding of real-time system principles and issues related to determinism, scan cycles, and resource management.
• Experience in software design for automatic machines or industrial plants.
• Experience in IT/OT integration (SQL databases, MES/ERP, structured logging, TCP/IP communications).
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Familiarity with Git version control systems.
• Fluent knowledge of the English language.
• Degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with Agile organizational methodologies.
