Job Description

At ContentWise, our Senior Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering distributed and high-scalable services with a focus on quality, robustness, and maintainability. They work closely with DevOps Engineers to architect and build streamlined software development pipelines and environments.

This is a full-time position based in Milan, with a hybrid flexible work policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed, highly scalable services ensuring quality and maintainability;
• Write technical documentation aligned with product and architecture updates;
• Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to optimize development pipelines and environments;
• Research, test, and apply new techniques to improve development processes, quality, and performance;
• Assign, delegate, and monitor tasks and projects to other Software Engineers, evaluating their progress and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering, or related field;
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a backend developer, with expertise in Java or Kotlin and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS);
• Solid experience with Java frameworks (preferably Spring or Quarkus), Linux, MySQL, and NoSQL databases;
• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and scalable distributed systems;
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB, S3;
• Experience with distributed event stores and streaming systems, preferably Apache Kafka;
• Knowledge of full-text search engines like Elasticsearch;
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Kanban workflow;
• Passion for experimenting with cutting-edge technologies.
