Job Description

At ContentWise, our Senior Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering distributed and highly scalable services with a focus on quality, robustness, and maintainability. They work closely with DevOps Engineers to architect and build streamlined software development pipelines and environments.

This is a full-time position based in Milan with a hybrid flexible work policy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement distributed, highly scalable services ensuring quality, robustness, and maintainability.
2. Write technical documentation aligned with the latest product and architecture updates.
3. Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to design and build efficient software development pipelines and environments.
4. Research, test, and apply new techniques and tools to improve development processes, quality, and performance.
5. Assign, delegate, and monitor tasks and projects to other Software Engineers, evaluating their progress and outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• BS/MS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5+ years of experience as a backend developer with expertise in Java or Kotlin and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).
• Solid experience with Java frameworks (preferably Spring or Quarkus), Linux, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed, scalable systems.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, S3.
• Experience with distributed event stores and streaming systems, preferably Apache Kafka.
• Familiarity with full-text search engines, preferably Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Kanban workflow management, with a passion for collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Enthusiasm for experimenting with cutting-edge technologies.
