Computacenter Plc cerca un Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) esperto in Java per supportare applicazioni critiche e servizi in produzione. Il candidato durerà a collaborare con Development, Platform Engineering, Cloud e Security per migliorare resilienza, scalabilità e prestazioni, guidando automazione, monitoraggio e gestione degli incidenti.

Richiesta esperienza DevOps/SRE, conoscenze Windows e Linux, Jenkins CI/CD, Docker e Tomcat.

Competenze

• Laurea o equivalente in Informatica/IT/ingegneria.
• >=6 anni di esperienza DevOps/SRE.
• Esperienza Windows & Linux.
• Script bash/shell e PowerShell.
• Integrazione CI/CD con Jenkins.
• Esperienza con Docker e Tomcat.
• Capacità di lavorare in ambienti complessi e dinamici.

Mansioni

• Gestire e migliorare l'affidabilità delle applicazioni Java e dei servizi microservizi in produzione.
• Mantenere la visibilità operativa con strumenti di observability e monitoraggio.
• Gestire incidenti, analisi delle cause e mitigazione rapida.

Life on the team

Computacenter GIS Business Unit is seeking a confident and experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support and enhance critical Java-based applications and services. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring platform reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence. Working closely with Development, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security teams, you will drive automation, observability, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives across enterprise applications.

What you'll do

• Perform a complex range of technical work activities to meet business and customer requirements.
• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of Java applications and microservices running in production environments.
• Monitor application and infrastructure health using enterprise observability and monitoring tools.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting production issues, and performing root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to reduce operational overhead and improve service stability.
• Coordinate small teams delivering work packages in line with company processes and customer requirements.
• Provide technical leadership within the Java SRE and application support domain.
• Collaborate with Development, Platform Engineering, Cloud, and Security teams to improve service resilience and scalability.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and support automated deployments across multiple environments.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and technical procedures.
• Contribute to the development of standards, best practices, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive system optimization.
• Escalate issues appropriately in line with company processes to ensure customer expectations are met.
• Communicate effectively on complex technical issues, minimizing business impact and avoiding unnecessary escalations.
• Evaluate escalations and drive timely resolution to meet service commitments.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a consistent support experience.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years DevOps/SRE experience.
• Windows & Linux OS experience.
• Shell scripting experience.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Building pipelines and job management with Jenkins CD/CI tool.
• Docker experience.
• Tomcat administration.
• Previous experience of working in complicated technical environments preferably in eCommerce.
• Demonstrates good oral and written communications skills.
• Capable of liaison with Senior IS Management and key business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Routine administrative skills
