Senior Sales Manager (Air & Ocean Freight)

Location: Italy (Flexible in terms of location)

Our client is an independent international freight forwarder experiencing growth in Italy, with strong ties to a global leader in the logistics industry. While maintaining autonomy, they leverage the resources, support, and scale of their parent company to drive growth and success.

This client is seeking a Senior Sales Manager for their expanding Air and Ocean Freight operations. As part of an exciting growth phase, they are looking for a hands-on senior commercial manager capable of working autonomously and developing new verticals. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a key role in expanding a thriving logistics business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Sales Approach: Drive development and growth of multiple products and freight sales strategies, ensuring consistent expansion in new and existing markets.
  2. Business Development: Establish and grow new verticals, contributing to the company's expansion in Italy.
  3. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including those in sectors such as food and beverage, project cargo, and luxury goods.
  4. Team Leadership: Support a small but growing team, fostering a collaborative and high-energy sales culture.
  5. Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Italy, with flexibility regarding regions of focus.
  6. Collaboration with a Global Leader: Leverage knowledge and support from a global leader to drive new business and support the company's position both in Italy and internationally.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Strong background in ocean freight; experience in air freight and road transport is advantageous.
  • Specialization: Experience or specialization in verticals such as food and beverage, project cargo, or luxury goods is beneficial.
  • Geographic Knowledge: Ideally based in Milan, Tuscany, Venice, Genoa, or Rome, with the ability to grow business in local territories.
  • Ambition & Ethos: Driven, hands-on individual with ambition to grow and lead within a rapidly expanding business.
