Senior Sales Manager (Air & Ocean Freight)

Our client is an independent international freight forwarder growing in Italy, with strong ties to a global leader in the logistics industry, being part of a larger, well-established group. They maintain their autonomy while leveraging the resources, support, and scale of their parent company to drive growth and success.

This client is seeking a Senior Sales Manager for their expanding Air and Ocean Freight operations. As part of an exciting growth phase, this company is looking for a hands-on senior commercial manager who can work autonomously and develop new verticals. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a key role in expanding a thriving logistics business.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Sales Approach : Drive the development and growth of multiple products and freight sales strategies, ensuring consistent business expansion in new and existing markets.
  2. Business Development : Establish and grow new verticals, contributing to the company's ambition to expand its footprint in Italy.
  3. Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including those in specialised sectors such as food and beverage, project cargo, luxury goods, etc.
  4. Team Leadership : Support a small but growing team, fostering a collaborative and high-energy sales culture.
  5. Market Expansion : Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Italy, with flexibility regarding regions of focus.
  6. Collaboration with a global leader : Leverage knowledge and support from a global leader to drive new business and support the company's position in Italy and internationally.

Qualifications :

  1. Experience : Strong background in ocean freight; experience in air freight is a plus; experience in road transport is beneficial.
  2. Specialisation : Experience or specialization in verticals such as food and beverage, project cargo, or luxury goods is advantageous.
  3. Geographic Knowledge : Ideally based in Milan, Tuscany, Venice, Genoa, or Rome, with the ability to grow business in local territories.
  4. Ambition & Ethos : A driven, hands-on individual with the ambition to grow and lead within a rapidly expanding business.
