Senior R&D Smarteyewear Product Design Engineer

Your role

We are looking for a Senior R&D Smarteyewear Product Design Engineer to join our R&D Department.

Main responsibilities:

1. Develop and serve as a reference for the development of complex mechanical solutions as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Ideate, design, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems.
3. Push the boundaries of state-of-the-art technologies to solve complex mechanical problems.
4. Work across the entire product development cycle, from idea and concept definition to final productization.
5. Collaborate with industrial designers, UX teams, and quality assurance.
6. Travel to support engineering builds and vendor visits.

Main requirements:

• Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
• Experience with Parametric 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.
• Knowledge of PDM systems, preferably Windchill.
• Understanding of injection molding design and processes.
• At least 3+ years of experience in mechanical or mold design.
• Experience with DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, and geometric tolerancing.
• Knowledge of design and simulation tools, prototyping, manufacturing technologies, and materials.
• Familiarity with material properties of plastics, metals, adhesives, and glass.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience in consumer electronics product development is a plus.
• Proficiency in Office 365.
• Experience managing a team of R&D Product Design Engineers.
• Over 5 years of relevant field experience.
