Senior Project Engineer

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer to join its Projects - Process and Chemical team, focusing on engineering, procurement, and construction of complex plants in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Energy industries.

The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager or directly to the Project Manager, you will be the technical coordinator of the project, interfacing with all engineering disciplines (process, piping, civil, technological, machinery & packages, electrical, instrumentation), and supervising the team of project engineers.

You will also relate with the Client, attending technical weekly coordination meetings and official project review meetings.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in mechanical, chemical, or energy engineering
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Availability to relocate abroad
• Self-motivated, proactive, with good communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent in English and Italian

Desirable Skills

• Experience in major engineering companies
• Understanding of multidisciplinary workflows from design to construction
• Experience with P&ID development and updates
• Previous construction site experience

Key Objectives

• Coordinate engineering disciplines and manage activities against schedule
• Supervise Project Engineers in Milan and India during document preparation
• Collaborate with HSE, procurement, subcontracting, project control, and construction teams
• Interface with clients for technical matters and attend project reviews
• Prepare erection requisitions for mechanical works
• Potentially serve as Senior Field Project Engineer on construction sites
