Illumina in Italy is expanding its bioinformatics team to advance human health by developing novel methods for complex genomic data. You will contribute to the DRAGEN platform and Illumina Connected Analytics, collaborating with software, FPGA, QA, QC, and clinical genomics teams to deliver end-to-end workflows with real-world impact.

A Masters or PhD in a relevant field and experience in NGS technologies are required; strong C/C++ skills and a production mindset are essential.

Competenze

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Bioinformatics or related field.
• Experience with NGS data analysis and secondary analysis (mapping, alignment, variant calling).
• Strong background in algorithms, statistics, and genomics.

Mansioni

• Design and prototype algorithms to extract signals from sequencing data.
• Develop and optimize high-performance production software in C/C++.
• Analyze complex genomic datasets to support product development.
• Collaborate with software, FPGA, QA/QC, and clinical genomics teams.
• Define future capabilities with external scientific and customer teams.
• Communicate technical approaches to diverse audiences.
• Prepare technical documents, publications, and marketing materials.
