The position

As a Senior Procurement Specialist at Novo Nordisk, you will lead strategic procurement initiatives, ensuring rigorous compliance with policies and regulations while managing complex contract negotiations. Your role will involve mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements to optimize procurement operations and supplier relationships.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Lead and manage the procurement function, ensuring robust adherence to processes, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
  2. Serve as a key partner for internal stakeholders, proactively following up on acquisitions and internal procedures to ensure that all commitments and project schedules are met. By acting as a bridge between procurement and stakeholders, you will help drive alignment and accountability across the organization, ensuring seamless execution.
  3. Conduct comprehensive supplier assessments and performance evaluations, fostering strong partnerships and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, acting as a primary point of contact for contract-related matters, and fostering partnerships that contribute to long-term value.
  5. Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, driving corrective actions when necessary.

A strong focus will be to implement and manage compliance frameworks within the procurement process, regularly auditing contracts and vendor relations to ensure adherence to policies and regulations.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify procurement needs, define specifications, and sourcing strategies that deliver quality outcomes, also by analyzing market trends and gathering competitive intelligence to inform procurement strategies and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading complex negotiations and managing high-stakes contracts effectively and an in-depth understanding of procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.

To succeed in this role, you:

  • Hold an academic degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Have 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Have been involved in CAPEX projects.
  • Have advanced proficiency in procurement software and tools, alongside strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Are fluent in Italian and English both written and spoken.

Previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry will be seen as an advantage.

On a personal level, you showcase strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships across various stakeholders. You also have analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.

About the Department

This position is part of the Procurement & Finance team within the Project Organization. The department is responsible for complying with acquisitions, partnering with suppliers to get the best negotiations for the project, within the agreed timeline and approved costs.
