NXP Semiconductors in Italy is seeking an experienced IC verification engineer to drive digital verification across high-performance designs. You will develop verification environments, write test benches, and verify designs from concept to tapeout.

The role requires SystemVerilog, UVM proficiency, and experience with Questa, VCS, or Xcelium, plus scripting in Python/Perl/Tcl. Collaboration across design, architecture, and software teams is essential.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of digital IC design verification experience
• Ability to execute the assigned tasks with minimum support
• Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM
• Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (Questa, VCS, Xcelium)
• Knowledge of scripting languages Python, Perl or Tcl
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

NXP is building new teams in Catania to create high impact microcontrollers (MCU) as part of NXP’s intelligent AI at the Edge. This team will include a wide range of engineering talent from analog to SOC digital design. Full product development local will product world class products at a world class pace.

This team will include all key engineering disciplines in Design, Architecture, Verification, DfT and Physical Design to produce high performance and quality products.

Your Responsibilities.

• Develop and implement efficient and comprehensive verification environments and test benches using industry-standard methodologies (e.g., UVM, SystemVerilog)


• Create detailed verification plans based on design specifications, identifying key functionalities and potential corner cases


• Develop, execute, and debug test cases to thoroughly verify the design against its specifications


• Analyze simulation results, identify discrepancies, and work closely with design engineers to resolve issues


• Develop and maintain verification collateral, including assertions, functional coverage models, and verification scripts


• Participate in verification reviews, contributing to the improvement of verification methodologies and processes


• Collaborate with design, architecture, and software teams throughout the product development lifecycle

Your Profile.

• Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field


• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in digital IC design verification


• Capability to execute the assigned tasks with minimum support


• Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM (Universal Verification Methodology)


• Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., Questa, VCS, Xcelium)


• Solid understanding of digital design principles and architectures


• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl


• Familiarity with metric driven verification and assertion-based verification


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

As of the date of this posting, the estimated gross annual base salary range for this position in Italy is between 77,200 € and 106,300 € annually. This range is intended as a guideline. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, and specific business or organizational needs. This position falls under the applicable National Collective Labour Agreement (Metalmeccanica Industria). Where relevant, the total compensation package may also include additional elements such as annual incentive opportunities and/or equity, along with a competitive benefits package.
