Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Power Supply Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will perform a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples, Italy.

Mission

Participate in the PS&TP design and commissioning through production of deliverables, to achieve the requirements in terms of time, quality and cost imposed by the assigned projects.

Accountabilities

• Contribute to the identification and the fulfillment of the design requirements
• Contribute to the identification and resolution of the interfaces with the main subsystems (e.g. Signaling, CW, SCADA, etc.)
• Contribute to issuing the technical documents
• Take part in the commissioning activities of PS & TP
• Complete tasks on time, respecting quality standards and assigned goals. Follow company procedures to carry out and complete job tasks
• Understand the importance of the customer and maintain a positive attitude toward the customer by replying to inquiries, requests, or complaints

Required Skills/Knowledge

• 3 to 5 years of engineering experience
• Knowledge of the Company IMS system and related processes, organization of IMS documents, IMS feedback
• Knowledge of the Interface Management process, procedures, and KPIs; ability to identify, define and address internal and external technical interfaces
• Knowledge of the Design and Development processes, procedures and KPIs
• Knowledge of the system and subsystems of a transportation system and related interactions, system architecture
• Knowledge of basic technical concepts and the main PS&TP architecture and equipment
• Knowledge of electrical system design principles
• Knowledge about LV systems design for TLC, SCADA, CW, Aux. Plants and Sign
• Knowledge about Traction Power substations (DC, AC)
• Knowledge of processes to check that Contact Line systems meet specifications and are fit for purpose, including factory and on-site testing
• Knowledge of processes to check that Tracion Power and Power Supply meet specifications, including factory and on-site testing
• Knowledge of processes to check that electrical systems meet specifications, including factory and on-site testing
• Knowledge of commissioning rules and standards for specific projects and country requirements, and ability to induct others on test activities
• Knowledge of the railway environment, risks and rules, and adherence when planning and executing commissioning activities

Education/Qualifications

Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or Information Technology qualifications/university degree or equivalent technical background.

Languages

Good English knowledge.
