We’re looking for a Senior Operations Supervisor to join our Operations team in Milan and support us in optimising and simplifying road freight in Italy and across Europe.

As Senior Operations Supervisor, you’ll manage teams responsible for executing domestic and international transports and will be responsible for the department strategy, playing a leadership role in achieving the company's objectives.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Country Manager, the Director of Commercial, and the Procurement department to manage existing customers and activate new ones, ensuring the best transport service and quality.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL :

1. Manage your teams to ensure FTL transports coverage for open available freight using internal tools, external capacity resources, and learned sales techniques;
2. Improve relationships with Key Suppliers and support the Procurement department in tender and contract evaluation;
3. Set and review KPIs and targets for the teams while ensuring adherence to company-wide goals;
4. Support the yearly budget definition and ensure periodic reports and analysis to management;
5. Organise periodic meetings to present strategy results to management, translating company directives into objectives and actions;
6. Supervise the team in executing daily transports and support in handling inquiries from carriers and customers;
7. Work with carriers and customers to implement projects, solve complex business challenges, identify opportunities, and proactively find solutions.

PREFERABLY, YOU ARE :

• Confident in using data to analyse and track key metrics;
• Having 5+ years of experience in Road Freight, with a major focus on Full Truck Load transport, preferably with Freight Forwarding and Brokerage experience;
• Having 3+ years of experience in people management with at least 3 direct reports;
• Updated on freight forwarding market dynamics;
• Experienced in managing framework agreements with suppliers;
• A great problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset;
• Knowledgeable about validating business opportunities (feasibility and sustainability);
• Fluent in Italian (native level) and proficient in English.
