Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support and improve our existing product portfolio while contributing to new engineering solutions that create value for customers and the business.

You will design mechanical and electromechanical components, validate designs with analyses and tests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance, cost, and manufacturability. This permanent role offers global exposure and growth within Allegion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD tools (Creo preferred).
• Identifying opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, quality, and cost competitiveness.
• Developing innovative engineering solutions and validating designs through analysis, testing, and verification activities.
• Supporting manufacturing and quality teams in root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Contributing to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives to optimize production efficiency.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Systems, Electrical, Quality, Operations, Product Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales.
• Assessing customer feedback and business requirements to drive meaningful product enhancements.
• Managing assigned projects and engineering activities to ensure delivery against timing, quality, and cost objectives.
• Participating in customer visits and technical discussions to better understand real-world applications and user needs.
• Driving a culture of continuous improvement by challenging existing solutions and proposing better ways of working.
